"Wreckords Records is proud to announce that on 9/27/09, The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, through promotional efforts with an over 10 year relationship with Big Noise Promotions, has once again placed the singer/songwriter rock band CLOSENUF (Anthony J. Foti - Co–Producer, Performer, Arranger & Composer) on the Official Ballot for the 2010 GRAMMY AWARDS with 2 tracks from their 2009 album release “CLOSENUF…to a new beginning” - with the tunes:
"ALIVE FOREVER (The Jerome Mix)" & “AT NIGHT (The La Cerra Mix)” both simultaneously Placed on the Ballot for Nomination for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals, an honor shared this year with the likes of Bon Jovi, Hall & Oates, Bruce Hornsby, Foreigner, Collective Soul & The Black Eyed Peas. This is the project's second & third placement as Official Grammy Ballot Entrants in under 4 years, following their Official Ballot Placement for the 2006 Grammy Awards for Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalists for “MUSIC MAN (The La Cerra Mix),” again, Anthony J. Foti - Co–Producer, Performer, Arranger & Composer - from their self-titled 2005 debut LP & a previous Billboard World Songwriting Contest Award Winner - with “MUSIC MAN (The Barlotta Mix);" shared at the time with the likes of Sting, Tony Bennett, Diana Krall & Michael Buble. The mix titles come from CLOSENUF's work with accomplished local record producer Steve 'Woody' La Cerra (Blue Oyster Cult), & famed record producer Steve Jerome (Neil Diamond, Simon & Garfunkel, The SugarHill Gang & The Left Banke) who introduced sax work to the project by 'Screamin' Steve Barlotta (Gary U.S. Bonds). For this category this season, thousands of applicants nationwide were narrowed down to 124 nominees, greatly improving the New York based act's chances (with 2 spots this time around - @ a 1 in 13 chance) for final nomination placement and/or victory.
